Salvation Army Needs Bell Ringers
Posted on Nov 16th, 2011

Northlake Neighborhood families are encouraged to consider volunteering to ring bells within the doors of our local Copps grocery store or Walgreens pharmacy.  Have you seen the signs at the neighborhood entrances?  While service clubs and individuals have been very gracious, there are still over 70% of the shifts available.

Simply go to, and select the Madison, Wisconsin link in the text box on the left.  Click on the search opportunities link, and look for the link for the Middleton Copp's store or Walgreens pharmacy in the right hand column.  Find a shift that works for you and/or your family and register electronically.  You'll be sent an e-mail confirmation.

Many neighbors have made ringing bells a Christmas tradition for members of their family and return year after year.  Some bring musical instruments to play or other to sing Christmas carols.  Let your creativity run wild.
Here are the facts you may be most interested in:
• Each kettle raises an average of $90 - $100 for each two hour shift where volunteers are present
• All money raised in Dane County, stays in Dane County
• More than 85% of money raised goes directly to client services:  286,000 meals per year, over 54,000 nights of shelter, 2,500 visits to the elderly and shut in and an average of 30 - 60 family meals each day of the year.

Join us in the spirit of giving.  Any questions, contact Dan Loichinger at for your answer.
