Goats at Work in the Conservancy
Posted on May 30th, 2013

The City of Middleton and Forestry Department is using prescribed grazing for 3-4 weeks with a herd of 82 goats on the East side of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy.  The goats are helping to restore the native plant community and wildlife habitat in the Conservancy’s woodlands.  They are contained by a solar-powered electric fence. The fence keeps the goats in their work area, and keeps predators out. If you want to see the goats, please observe them from a distance and stay clear of the fence.
